Local distributor delivers turkeys, makes other donations to families in need this holiday season

HIGHLAND PARK– Employees at family-owned and operated Great Lakes Wine & Spirits are giving back to the community this year by making charitable donations to families in need. Great Lakes Wine & Spirits has donated more than 200 turkeys to Capuchin Soup Kitchen, Forgotten Harvest in Detroit and the YWCA of Detroit. Great Lakes Wine & Spirits also donated $300 in children’s books to the YWCA. In addition, Great Lakes Wine & Spirits participated in the Adopt-a-Family program, which brought in more than $2,000 worth of gifts and gift cards for one family in need. “We are grateful for the support the community has given our business over the years and we’re happy to have the opportunity to give back,” said Lew Cooper III, owner of Great Lakes Wine & Spirits. “And for many of us, being able to bring a little cheer to kids in our community is a highlight in our holiday season.” About Great Lakes Wine & Spirits: Great Lakes Wine & Spirits is owned-and-operated by the Cooper and the Ross families.
