Northern Michigan beer distributor working hand-in-glove with retailers to ensure they’re well-stocked
WEST BRANCH, Mich. – Every year Americans purchase more than $1 billion worth of beer over the 4th of July holiday, and Griffin Beverage Company is putting in extra hours this week to ensure bars, stores and restaurants are well-stocked ahead of the biggest weekend of the year for beer sales.
“We pride ourselves in working hand-in-glove with retailers big and small to help them grow, create jobs and succeed,” said Bob Griffin Jr, general manager of Griffin Beverage. “We’re delivering thousands of cases of beer and dozens of kegs every day to bars, restaurants and stores to ensure beer is flowing from tap handles and store shelves are well-stocked throughout the long holiday weekend.”
According to data released last month by the National Beer Wholesalers Association and the Beer Institute, Michigan’s beer industry pumped more than $10.5 billion into the state’s economy in 2016. Distributors alone employ 4,752 people and have a direct economic impact of more than $860 million statewide.
“Consumers have endless options to choose from this weekend, from beer brewed right here in Michigan to nationally-acclaimed and world-renowned brands,” said Griffin Jr. “We’re proud to partner with suppliers from across the country and around the world to ensure our retailers have an unparalleled selection for their customers, and to help fuel the continued growth of Michigan’s craft breweries and brewpubs.”
Griffin Beverage Company, a family owned beer distributor, services 43 counties throughout Michigan with warehouses in Alpena, Marquette, Saginaw, St. Ignace and West Branch.
