Skills honed from years of military service prepare veterans to help suppliers and retailers succeed
HIGHLAND PARK, Mich. – As Veterans Day approaches, Eastown Distributors is taking special steps to honor its employees who have served in the U.S. armed forces.
“Our veterans, who have bravely defended our country at home and abroad, bring a unique skill set to the job, including self-discipline, a commitment to teamwork and a willingness to take on any task from day one,” said Paul Quasarano, president of Eastown Distributors. “These skills help our warehouse and delivery run smoothly and efficiently and ensure our local retailers and beer suppliers are poised to succeed today into the future.”
Michigan is home to nearly 590,000 veterans, according to 2017 data from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. There are nearly 20 million veterans across the United States.
“We are proud to hire veterans and are committed to ensuring those who have served our country have access to a rewarding and high-quality career when they return to civilian life,” Quasarano said. “Veterans possess skills that don’t always show up on a resume, like sense of honor, integrity and service. These skills are invaluable in an environment that thrives on efficiency and attention to detail.”
Michigan’s independent and family owned beer and wine distributors employ thousands of Michiganders and pump millions of dollars back into local communities we call home every year.
