OUTBOUND WAREHOUSE MANAGER

Eat. Sleep. Lead. Repeat: Our Outbound Warehouse Manager leads, manages and holds the outbound management team accountable. This manager works at our Kalamazoo Headquarters, Monday-Thursday (That's right...a 3-day weekend!) with a start time of 3:00pm. Our Outbound Warehouse Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations revolving around the accurate and efficient loading of orders onto delivery trucks as well as coordinating the delivery of products to other warehouses. DELIVERY DRIVER

Great Lakes Wine & Spirits | Detroit, Michigan


Job Type: Full-time local delivery positions available departing from our Detroit area depots delivering to local businesses.

Salary: 

  • $174.00 daily pay guarantee for route drivers plus opportunities for commission on cases delivered.
  • $8.00 Daily Perfect Attendance Bonus opportunity (Paid Quarterly)

Schedule & Hours: 

  • Monday through Friday (Saturdays expected and schedule may fluctuate based on need). 
  • 6AM or 7AM start time until daily workload completion.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for checking products when loading before leaving on route to ensure that all product is on the truck.
  • Responsible for removing product from truck and delivering into accounts.
  • Utilize customer service skills when making the delivery by being courteous, friendly, and respectful.
  • Collect payment from accounts when necessary and return payments and all other documents to the office upon route completion.
  • Communicate with the office and Customer Service to ensure that products are delivered correctly.
  • Ensure that orders are delivered according to established policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum age 18 years old.
  • Able to pass drug & alcohol test.
  • Acceptable DMV record required.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.
  • Must have valid CDL B License with Air Brake Endorsement or Chauffeur License. GLWAS will assist new employees in obtaining their Commercial Driver License (CDL) within 90 days of employment.
  • Obtain DOT Card thru GLWAS during pre-employment physical.
  • Ability to work in all kinds of weather while working on your own with limited supervision.
  • Ability to climb in and out of a truck and carry cases that can weight up to 45 lbs.

      A Day in the Life:

      • Check the schedule you put together for the week to see what accounts and employees you will be visiting for the day
      • Create a plan for each stop, which can include product samples, reviewing sales numbers, and ensuring we are helping the account succeed
      • Grab an energy drink, jump in your car, and start driving to your first stop
      • Check in with your team throughout the day to answer questions and see if they need anything
      • Depending on the day, when you visit an account, you may be training a new employee, resolving issues, sampling products with the purchaser, merchandising, job shadowing an employee, providing coverage for a sales route, or ensuring we are meeting account standards
      • Run sales reports for your team to track goals and identify sales opportunities
      • Prepare and present information at weekly sales meetings
      • Lead and coach your team

      Requirements:

      • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent education and experience) in Sales and Business Marketing
      • Management and sales experience required
      • 21 years of age or older
      • Must live in assigned market
      • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills
      • Flexibility to work varying hours to accommodate customer needs and special events
      • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with various types of people
      • Desire to stay up-to-date on industry trends and product knowledge
      • Ability to attain a Michigan Liquor Control Commission license
